Dr Nicola Lowth

Dr Nicola Lowth is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, Clinical Nutritionist and founder and director of Nutrition IQ. Nicola has diverse experience across a range of health settings including university teaching, community and corporate health as well as working individually with clients in private practice for 15 years.

​

Being an ex-open national level swimmer as well as completing a PhD in endurance sport, Nicola understands the demands of heavy training and enjoys the challenge of working with athletes to optimise their fuelling. Nicola specialises in metabolic and hormonal health and has been using metabolic testing in her private clinic for the last 13 years with great success. She is passionate about helping people to improve their energy and vitality through optimising metabolic function.

Nicola is a member of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine, and was recently awarded a scholarship to complete a fellowship in integrative functional medicine which aligns with her passion about using an integrated, whole body approach to nutrition. She prides herself on her ability to translate the very complex science of nutrition into practical, individualised and achievable strategies for clients.  Nicola is also committed to helping clients to break free from the stressful diet cycle and move towards developing a healthy relationship with food and their bodies.

Nicola is a mum to three small children so brings with her lived experience of juggling life with a busy family. She is passionate about supporting and nurturing women throughout all stages of life and finds this part of her work incredibly rewarding.

Paul Bailey

Paul Bailey is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian committed to empowering individuals to achieve their health goals. He studied at Curtin University in Perth where he received the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for being in the top 1% of Curtin University students before graduating the master’s degree in dietetics with a distinction for outstanding performance.


With a passion for evidence-based practice, Paul provides dietary and behaviour change support to help people across a range of areas such as:

  • Heart health – cholesterol, blood pressure

  • Metabolic health – insulin resistance, prediabetes, diabetes

  • Weight management – weight loss, maintenance, or weight gain

  • Gut health – irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac’s disease

  • Hormonal health – polycystic ovarian syndrome, menopause

  • Chronic kidney disease

  • Cancer

  • Sports nutrition 

  • Practical healthy eating for families​

Paul’s journey into dietetics is enriched by his background as a competitive swimmer, which instilled in him a deep appreciation for the role nutrition plays in enhancing performance and overall well-being. His experience provides a unique perspective on sports nutrition, helping athletes optimise their dietary strategies for training, competition, and recovery.


As a proud father, Paul understands the challenges of balancing a busy family life while maintaining a nutritious diet. He brings this relatable and practical approach to his work, tailoring advice to suit each client’s lifestyle and goals.

 
With diverse experience, including diabetes and oncology clinics, youth mental health recovery programs, and group education initiatives, Paul is adept at addressing the unique needs of his clients. Whether navigating chronic conditions, optimising sports performance, or supporting young people and their families, Paul’s compassionate approach helps individuals thrive.
